You can configure forms so fields only appear when they\u2019re relevant. For example, if a user selects <em>\u201cRequesting refund\u201d<\/em>, only then does a box for <em>\u201cReason for refund\u201d<\/em> appear. If not, it stays hidden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This approach keeps forms short and clear, which encourages more people to complete them as well as improving the quality of the data you get back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Custom email summaries instead of \u201csend me a copy\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>By default, Smartsheet lets people tick a box to receive a copy of their responses. While handy, this option is limited: they simply receive a list of each field and answer, with no context or reference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A smarter approach is to create a customised automation that emails back a formatted summary. For example, you can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Include a unique reference number generated by Smartsheet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Merge multiple responses into a single paragraph (\u201cmail merge\u201d style) for readability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add a thank-you message or next steps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of a list with no context, the respondent receives a professional, personalised confirmation reminding them of their entries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance: <em>\u201cThank you for your 5-star review of our app. You commented \u2018Great service\u2019 and confirmed you\u2019re happy for us to share this feedback. Your reference number is #12345.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s clearer for the user and far more useful for your records. By adding simple query strings to your form URL, you can populate details such as name, email, or purchased product before the user even opens the form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This reduces friction and makes it far more likely you\u2019ll get comprehensive (and accurate) data.
